Ignite the Spark of Your Potential is chiefly concerned with the growth and development of individuals and of people in small and mid-sized companies.  Personally, I find few large publicly traded companies who deserve good employees.  So focused on short term profits, shareholder interests, and top executive compensation, concerns for the development of employees becomes lip service where actions and performance do not match.

    This work is for people who are striving to push deeper into the possibility of who they can be and how they can impact the world in which they live.  It is about developing the skills and awareness of what could be and bringing that new found possibility into your life. 

     By learning how to observe the historical internal dialog occurring in your mind simply as certain voices within the self giving rise to your thoughts -- rather than who you are -- you gain tremendous freedom to choose to awaken other heroic voices outside the historical internal dialog (but still within you).  This radically changes the internal dialog of the unobserved mind and the influence you have over the creation of your life.  You learn to see through different eyes.  And a new world begins to emerge where you create the purpose, meaning, and joy that is possible for you.

     "Thinking out of the box, that is what I have learned from this work.  I have learned that there is far more to me than I realized.  And I had been living in a much smaller world than was possible for me.  Today, I am up to challenges that I used to react negatively to.  Now when those same challenges show up in my life, I am more prepared to use them as a spring board for solving the problem creatively than I was before.  Besides being able to catch myself before reacting, I now respond to the ever changing world of my work and market environment that I never dreamed was possible before.  Also I can now move beyond merely responding to challenge.  I can use the situation to initiate new courses of action altogether.

     I came out of a large health care system where I was a turn-around artist for under-performing business units -- so I was already comfortable managing and leading people.  When I was recruited to run a tightly held construction company under difficult circumstances, my skill sets were challenged.  And I needed help reinventing myself to run a construction company.  It was a completely different mindset.

     This work taught me how to take fear and anxiety offline and find inner resources that I had lost contact with.  Running a company in this challenging time, along with a marriage having problems, had caused me to lose contact with the very gifts that had brought me success.  Learning to manage my emotions so that I could be calm allowed me to re-establish contact with the parts of me that had brought me success.  Now I know how to get to that place where peak performance happens.  It's not just raw talent now though.  The talent is still there but, through this work, I have honed it into a skill that I can call up at any time.
